Harvest the sun with homemade solar panels!—doesn’t that sound so futuristic? Well it’s actually not. This technology is being used more and more each day by typical homeowners (and even by some renters). Finally we all have a decision in the way we power our homes because making homemade solar panels is not very hard (or expensive)! What’s the best, easiest, and cheapest way to do this? Simple, by building solar panels for your home (just I I did)!

A year and a half ago, I became very interested building my own solar panels so I went out one weekend, got a guide, got the supplies, and built. Building my own homemade solar panels was as basic as your typical “Do It Yourself” project. And by the end of the weekend I was finished. This project has turned out to an amazing way to save money on my electric bill and it’s great to see my lessened carbon footprint.

Saving money on my house’s energy costs at a time when the price of energy changes daily…has been a very good investment over the past several years. With a rudimentary set of tools anyone can make their very own homemade solar panels. The only thing you need to do is to know how to follow basic instructions. Not only have my solar panels saved me a ton of money…but they are extremely beneficial for the environment because they do not produce any harmful chemicals and it does not eat up any of the earth’s non-renewable resources.

Build solar panels for your homeA great aspect about making your own homemade solar panels is the fact that you can design them to fit your own personal needs. If you have a lot of roof space or other flat places outside you can make many panels and link them together. If you don’t want to do anything on your roof you can simply put than in a ground rack and connect as many as you like.

What else is nice is you can just start with 1 solar panel (which takes maybe 1 afternoon to build) … and then when you’re ready build another, connect it to the other solar panel …when you want another – build another, connect it to the two other solar panels, etc. – It’s that easy and you can scale up the system whenever you feel like it!

A helpful tip in building homemade solar panels is to start off with a small solar panel. By building a modest sized one at first, you can gain understanding of the building process and make future (bigger) panels with certainty. And then like I said, once you make your initial panel you can create as many as you need to power your entire house (or just part of it to – it’s up to you and you’re finally in control of your home’s energy)!

If you want to make your own homemade solar panels but don’t know how to begin…there’s no need to fear! Many people just like you and me have gone about this and built homemade solar panels and have drastically cut their monthly power bills by 80% or more. We’re already shaving thousands off our power bills every year.

Want to make your own solar panels this weekend? Then do it! It’s well worth the effort! And like I’ve talked about in some of my other articles …if I can do it; you certainly can too! I have no building, technical, or electrical experience but building solar panels was not hard at all! You just need some decent plans like I had and it’s quite a fun (money saving) project!
