Imagine building a wind turbine to power some of your house! This energy can lower our energy bills, make us more energy independent, and less reliant on our countries archaic energy grid? And we’d also not eat up precious non-renewable energy resources.

Well anyone who knows me or my website knows I love dabbling around with energy alternatives for home use. The first wind turbine I built, I used at my cottage in Tennessee.

At first I looked into buying a wind turbine and getting it installed – but that was way too expensive for me. Luckily though, there are “Do It Yourself” wind turbine instructions out there that teach you how to build one for a fraction of the price. With your very own “DIY” wind power generator you’ll be producing electricity from one of the most abundant energy resources in the world–>wind!

I know it can sound intimidating to build your own solar panels or wind turbine (and that’s how the retail companies want it – so you have to buy from them) …but the truth is it’s quite simple! You just connect some parts, set it up, and in about 1 afternoon you’re done! And you save incredible amounts of money compared to buying a retail unit – and then you continue to save money with your lower energy bills! Talk about a good investment.

If you’re interested in creating your own wind turbine, why not start this weekend? I’m confident you could finish it in a day or two if you use good plans or a teaching course like I did. And don’t worry if you’re not a techy type person. I’m not, but I still managed to create one that’s been working great since the day I built it. All you need is simple set of tools, a good guide, and some basic hardware!

Here’s a quick video talking about how wind energy works if you’re interested:

Same with me. I’m going to add this to my solar panel system I built.
