With the cost of energy so incredibly high these days it’s no wonder more and more people are turning towards alternative energy sources like solar panels for homes.  After you put in the initial costs to build your solar panels …you have free energy after that. It’s definitely one of the best investments anyone can make.Solar Panels For Homes

Before I built mine I debated whether or not I should buy a commercial system or build my own for my home because …well, I’m not a very experienced builder. Luckily, like I wrote about earlier, I found some good plans and I decided to try my hand at building my own. That’s definitely one decision that has paid off…and it’s absolutely changed me and my families life for the better and I know if I did it …anyone can (which is the reason I started this website – to help others have the same great results I have had).

When I first built my solar panel I really had two main motivations: save money and become more self-sufficient/self-reliant. The saving money aspect of my decision was what made me decide to make my own device because I looked into it and it takes many years to recoup your initial cost for a commercial solar panel. In fact, I read a couple places that the amount of money you save on electricity by using a commercial unit won’t equal the initial cost of the solar panel for about 10 years or so (if you buy a retail system). That was way too long for me and when I searched around the internet and saw how many people have already built solar panels at home for much less…the decision became easy.
Cheap solar panels for homesThe main problem was that I really am a very inexperienced builder so I had to find a way to get some direction to make mine. Luckily I found a great guide that took me step by step through the whole process and the rest is history. I have now built several solar panel systems for my home (as well as a few solar panel systems for family member’s homes).

I wrote an article about this earlier…but the cool thing is, I can build a solar panel for about $100. Now that’s not an average because I’ve built much bigger solar panels before that are about double or triple that…but $100 can actually build you a very solid solar panel. And then you just build more when you’re ready and easily connect them.

If you want to try your hand at building one I encourage you to! It’s very rewarding because you’re helping the environment…plus you’re saving tons of money each month. All you need are supplies you can get at any home improvement store and plans like these ones that I used.

I built my first solar panel the other day! And it’s working fantastic.
